"mom...that was super fun!"

Took my lovely sledding for the first time.
Or so she says.
We got a new sled from Santa and this slippery snow was perfect for zooming right on down the same hill my sister and used to sled on when we were younger.
I used to hate sledding when I was a kid. For various reasons. Mainly because it always seemed like so much work for such a short thrill.
But with her....I could do it for hours. I love seeing how she lights up.
Totally worth coming inside with snow packed into the back of my jeans.

Winter is peeking...

Winter is right around the corner.
Up in these parts, Christmas music has been playing on our radio since the first snowfall on halloween.
Our tree was cut from a friendly little farm, dragged across the frozen ground, and decorated so sweetly.
We have started our nightly holiday movie and snuggles in the chilly air.
Winter hats and boots have been warming our heads, mittens are already stashed in our chilly car, and salt has been bought for the driveway.
Christmas cards are ordered.
Shopping has begin.
Winter crafts have been started.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

NH

The girl and I took a mini trip up to visit our family.
These pictures are not in order, for some reason they don't post in order on my phone.

But we spent the time with family, snuggling and enjoying each other. Then headed to the county fair where my girl had herself a grand time. Mama too. :)

Dog Days of Summer

Avonlea and I took the pups to the dog park today for a little picnic. The juggling of two dogs and a toddler was a bit much for this mama.  So we picnicked under the trees, away from the other mamas and the other babies who giving this mama the stink-eye. It still was a perfect day....perfect company, perfect breeze, perfect moment for dancing in the sunshine.

My three pups.

I forgot to edit these before the posting.  ignore the poor lighting...:)

She might be better than me....

just sayin'....

It was a pretty little sunset. And my girl requested that we go take pictures of flowers.
Her mama's daughter.

There is nothing more delicious than her curls tumbling over her pretty shoulders...

 it never gets old. :)

 A mushroom for a gnome...

we hope you enjoyed your sunset tonight...

A Faery good time

On a beautiful fall day, the boy and I took the girl to see some fairy dwellings at a local park. Although we were a little disappointed with the amount of fairy homes, we still had fun with our cranky toddler. Of course, you would never guess it from these photos though.
There is something magical about the woods on a beautiful day....so many tiny treasures to find and explore. And the faeries? Well, no, they weren't home...they were having a faery harvest party, all together in the woods. If you listen closely, you can hear their whispers and giggles....

a tiny faery bench for a teeny tiny faery friend...

a happy turtle basking in the sunshine...

I love how this boy loves my girl. It makes moments like these even more magical...

I know, I know...I forgot my polarizing filter, and was cringing as I took some of these photos. But the end results are magical to me. I am loving the artifact, and believe I see some faeries fluttering past....don't you?
